HITHER AND THITHER
College Old Girls’ Ball. This year colourful decorations will be a feature of the annual ball of the Wanganui Girls’ College Old Girls’ Association, which will take place in the school assembly hall on Friday evening next, May 6. Members of the committee are making preparations to ensure the enjoyment of those who attend the ball. A final reminder is given that tickets should be obtained not later than Tuesday, May 3, from Miss Meuli, 4 College Street. Bride-to-be Entertained. Some delightful parties were given by her friends last week for Miss Joan Graham, whose marriage will take place this month. Hostesses included Mrs. F. Jacobs, St. Hill Street, whose party was much enjoyed. Mrs. A. H. Boyes arranged an afternoon party on Friday at her home in Selwyn Street, when about thirty young friends of the bride-to-be were happily entertained. Each guest brought along a bottled gift for the larder, all sorts of preserves and pickles being revealed when the wrappings were removed. The accompanying good wishes caused much fun and merriment. On Saturday Mrs. P. A. O’Neill was hostess at a pantry party held at her home in Ingestre Street, when the guests brought gifts for the pantry of Miss Graham’s future home. The parties were full of fun and merriment for all concerned.
