Mr. G. E. Bennett has been reelected president, of the Wanganui Indoor Bowls Association. Detective J. Murray, Wanganui, who has been on holiday leave, resumed duty on Saturday morning. Part of his holiday was spent in fishing at Tokaanu and Lake Roto Aira. Mr K. R. Johnston, pilot instructs to the Wairarapa and Rauhine Aerc Club, has resigned nis position will: the club and has accepted an appointment with Cook Strait Airways, Limited. Mr Justice Callan left Wellington last night for Auckland after spending some weeks in Wellington as a member of the Courl oi Appeal. Ht is to take the Auckland Supreme Court session, beginning to-day. Mr Justice Blair was to leave Wei lington yesterday foi Palmerston North, where he will preside over the Supreme Court session. Later he win come on to Wanganui and New Plymouth. Mr Justice Kennciy, a member ol the Court of Appeal, wiiich has been sitting in Wellington for some Weeks left for Dunedin on Friday night. He. will preside over tlx Dunedin Supreme Court session which begins today. Mr. N. Ross, of Dunedin, is visiting his two sons in Wanganui, Mr. N. M. Ross, superintendent of the Wanganui Fire Brigade, and Mr. G. F. Ross, station officer of the brigade. Mr. Ross, sen., is 80 years of age, and this is his first trip to the North Island. He arrived in the south when he was two years old. The chief engineer of the Public Works Department, and chairman ol the Main Highways Board, Mr Jobe. Wood, left Auckland for Sydney or Friday by the Wanganella. Mr Wood will be absent from New Zealand for about two months, and will make a study of irrigation works, highway systems, and the construction of aeio dromes in New South Wales and Victoria. He is accompanied by Mrs Wood.
