Mrs. J. F. Miles, Marton, visited Wellington this week. Mrs. M. McNaught, Meremere, Taranaki, is visiting Wanganui as the guest of Mrs. J. Miller. .

Miss Sybil Ross, “Letham,” has been paying a brief visit to Miss Mary Bright, Hawera. • - • • Mrs. R. Firth was a Wanganui visitor to New Plymouth this week.

Mrs. C. Savage and son are weekend visitors to Masterton to attend the West—Percy wedding.

Mrs. A. Tasker, Makirikri, with her two children, has left to spend a holiday at Greenmeadows, Hawke's Bay.

Mrs. Eckett and Miss Stares, of Auckland, are the guests of Mrs. C. Aitken, Carlton Avenue.

Mrs. Murray Page, Wellington, who was the guest of Mrs. Mcrewether, Gonville, for a few days, has returned.

Mrs. A. Haworth returned to Wanganui yesterday from Auckland, where she has been visiting Mrs. F. Weight, Devonport. ♦ • • •

Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Cranstone, of “Riverton,” Fordell, and Miss Joan Cranstone, returned on Wednesday from a trip to the South Island. * • * •

Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Penberthy, of Koromiko Road, Gonville, left yesterday for Auckland and will sail to-day by the “Wanganella” to spend a holiday in Australia.

Mrs. Hancock, of Harrison Street, an old resident of Wanganui, yesterday celebrated her 92nd. birthday, when she received congratulations and gifts from many friends. She still enjoys good health, is active and still reads her morning paper. ♦ • • • Mr. C. W. Holmes before leaving Auckland for Wanganui on the eve ol his approaching marriage was met by the directors and staff of the Northern Automobile Association and presented with a handsome oak clock encased In chromium. Several short speeches were made and congratulations conveyed to Mr. Holmes.
