ADDINGTON LIVESTOCK SALE ( Per Press Association. ] CHRISTCHURCH, April 12. The weekly Addington market was held to-day instead of to-morrow because of the Easter holiday interfering with normal slaughtering operations. Practically all classes of stock were easier in price. Store Lambs. —The smallest entry of these for some time met with an easing of a shilling a head. Rape lambs sold to 17s, carry-over sorts to 13s and culls to 7s. Store Sheep.—About 10,000 were penned, including wethers. Good twetooth ewes, particularly if strong in the wool, sold firmly as did soundmouthed ewes from the Chatham Islands. South Otago two-too<.hs sold to 37s and Chatham s.m. to 225. The bulk of the entry comprised old and modern :e’’-conditioned halfbreds and for these there was a slack sale with an easing in values. Store wethers were weaker, although forward sorts sold at up to 21s. Fat Lambs.—A small entry, mostly light conditioned. Prime heavy lambs sold well to the trade at a full 8d per lb.

Fat Sheep.—More than 5000 were penned and a slacker sale all round by about 2s a head, passings being much more numerous than usual. Quality was very mixed, inferior ewes predominating. With the approach of the holiday, exporters were very little in the market. Best wethers made from 27s to 30s, tops to 31s 7d; medium to good wethers 24s to 26s 6d. Best ewes sold at from 20s to 272 s 6d. a few tops to 295, medium 17s to 18s 6d and freezing sorts 14s to 16s

Fat Cattle. - 450 were penned, unfinished steers and cows forming the major portion. The slight improvement of last week was more than lost although good steers showed only a minor change. Indifferent classes were easier by about 15s a head. Best beef made up to 35s per 1001 b. good 31s to 33s and inferior down to 22s

Fat Pigs.—These comprised a smaller entry and porkers improved in price. Average price per lb for these was 6*d to 7d. For haconers the average price was 6d to 6id.
