GONVILLE TOURNAMENT
COMPETITIONS CONCLUDE The Gonville croquet tournament concluded yesterday under fine weather conditions, the finals resulting as follows:
A Handicap Singles.—Mrs Lockett won from Mrs Wallace.
B Level Singles. Mrs Chapman won from Mrs Lynch. C Level Singles.—Mrs Vincent won from Mrs Perry.
At the conclusion of the tournament the prizes were presented tG the winners by the president of the Gonville Croquet Club, Mrs F. H. Uttley, who extended thanks on behalf of the club to all those who had assisted in making the tournament so successful, particularly from the social aspect.
Congratulations were extended the Gonville Club on behalf of visiting players by Mrs A. E. Halligan, president of the Wanganui East Club, Mrs A. Bevege, president of the Aramoho Club, and Mrs A. C. Bourgeois, on behalf of the Durie Hill Club.
In appreciation of her services in managing the tournament, Mrs Fisher was the recipient of a gift from members.
Mrs T. Warnock presented Mrs Uttley with a beautiful piece of crystal ware for her work in organising the tournament.
