WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
RAETIHI MEETING
The members of the Raetihi Women’s Institute held their monthly meeting on April 7, there being a fair attendance of members. Through the absence of the president, Mrs Lynch, on account of illness, Mrs Dobson took the chair and welcomed the visitors and new members. After the Aspirations were repeated, Mrs Head, secretary, read the minutes.
It was decided that a garden party be held at Mrs Eyes' residence, opposite the Anglican Church on Tuesday, April 12, at 1.30 p.m., all members being asked to contribute something toward the stalls.
After some discussion it was arranged that the annual birthday take the form of a social afternoon to be held in the Druids’ Hall on the first Thursday in May. Winners of competitions were as follows: Best bloom, Mrs H. Frederick 1, Mrs E. C. Davis 2, Mrs T. Dobson 3. Best scones, Mrs T. S. Ward 1. Best sausage rolls, Mrs T. S. Ward 1.
