ON ITALIAN FRONTIER
SWISS ARMY MANOEUVRES ROME, March 20. The Giornale d’ltalia protests nt an announcement that the Swiss Army is holding manoeuvres on the Italian frontier next week as an offensive to Italy and adds that Switzerland has no ground for fearing an Italian threat. MISUNDERSTOOD BY ITALY ZURICH, March 20. It is authoritatively stated that the Italian viewpoint is based on a misunderstanding as the Swiss regiments are merely carrying out the normal service programme connected with the protection of the country, which occurs on all the frontiers in order to familiarise the recently-reorganised frontier guards with their duties.
