MOTORING OFFENCE
“BLIND LEADING BLIND.’* [ I’er Press Association.] DUNEDIN, March 19. A distinct case of the blind leading the blind was revealed in Court, this morning when Michael Francis Kelly admitted being intoxicated while in charge of a car. The police said his explanation was that, a man in the car with him at the time was teaching him to drive, but. the other man was just as intoxicated as he was. The car was an old model which Kelly had bought for £l5, and the anxiety of the other drivers in a crowded city street last evening when they saw the erratic course it was pursuing was probably justified. Kelly, a shearer by occupation, was fined £5 and prohibited from driving for 12 months, also £1 for not having a licence.
