FOOTBALL CLUB ANNUAL MEETING Approximately 60 members were present at the annual meeting of the Waverley Football Club held in the supper room of the Town Hall on Wednesday. Mr E. C. Dallison presided. In his opening remarks, the chairman referred to the loss sustained by the club in the death of Robert Hair. The members present stood in silence. * The treasurer presented the annual report and balance-sheet, which showed a satisfactory credit on the year's workings. McDonald; senior team manager, Mr A. B. E. Campbell; junior team manager, Mr N. B. Owen; committee, Messrs A. B. Campbell, J. McDonald, J. Leo, A. Wallace, M. Dickie, W. L*lzgibbon, B. Thomas; delegates to Metropolitan Union, Messrs J. Leo, L. Stewart, J. McDonald; senior coach, L. Stewart; junior coach, R. Bates; fifths coaches, Messrs W. Heginbotham and D. Walker; nominee for the executive, Metropolitan Rugby Union, E. C. Dallison.

It was decided to place a levy towards travelling expenses of 7s 6d seniors, 5s juniors, and 2s 6d fifths, in addition to players’ subscriptions. It was decided that the club nominate Dr. Adams for the position of chairman of the Managament Committee of the Wanganui Rugby Union. Tuesday and Thursday nights were set aside for practice, the first to be held on March 24. Mr Gordon Walker was appointed shed steward for the season. The new members elected were Messrs Dryden Bros., Sewell, Cromb, Leckie, Doig, Guthrie, Newloye, Hughes and Sinclair. The meeting closed with a. vote ol thanks to the chair. PERSONAL Mrs Neville. Auckland, is the guest of Mrs H. P. Mitcalfe, Suther Street. Mrs Walkinton has returned from holidaying in Wellington and the Hawke's Bay district. Miss E. P. Laird, Wanganui, was the guest of Mrs G. H. Alexander. "Buenos Ayres,” during the week-end. Miss J. Parsons has returned from i holiday spent as the guest of Mrs H. Todd, Waipukurau. Mrs A. J. Alexander and family, who have been the guests of Mrs Alexander's mother, Mrs Lourie, Marton, has returned home. ( KOI QIJET The results of several handicap single malcnes played this week were: I Mrs Thomas won from Mrs Mitcalfe; Miss Lupton won from Mrs Heginbotham; Mrs Pepper won from Mrs Palmer. In the Yankee tournament, Mrs S. Bromiley won from Mrs N. Bromiley; Mrs Sheppard won from Mrs Wilson; Mrs Muir won from Mrs Train; Mrs Beer won from Mrs Sheppard. In the button match, Mrs S. Bronii!ey and Miss Lupton won from Mrs j N. Bromiley and Mrs Pepper.
