WANGANUI GARRISON BAND
TESTIMONIAL AND WELCOME HOME On every hand there has been a ready willingness to co-operate with the Mayor and citizens’ committee in arranging a welcome home and testimonial to the Wanganui Garrison Band on Wednesday night in the Opera House. A glance through the programme arranged by Messrs P. Latham and C. R. White shows that the Putiki Maori Choir, the Wanganui Repertory Society, McKenzie's, Ltd., the Convents, theatre employees, in fact all those aproached have readily agreed to contribute to a programme of exceptional merit. The band istelf will be playing the hymn “New Rochedale” and the quickstep “Harlequin.” With these two numbers the band was placed first at the recent contest. The box plan for Wednesday night’s concert is at the D.1.C., and popular prices are being charged —2s and Is, v/ith no extra to reserve.
