NORTH OTAGO TITLES MEETING AT OAMARU A. A. CAMERON'S SUCCESS ( P<r Preu Association. 1 OAMARU, March 19. Grounds were heavy from overnight ram for the North Otago amateur athletic championships this afternoon. Despite threatening rain the public showed considerable interest by attending in good numbers. The noted Held event athlete, A. A. Cameron, defeated the Otago representatives in the following championships: Hop, step and jump (distance 43ft. Ilin.); throwing the discus (125f< Ilin.); shot put (38ft. 9in.); broad jump (20fe. Ilin.). Miss Bct(y Forbes, Empire Games representative, won the following women’s championships: Broad jump (15ft. 9ain.), high jump (4ft. l()in.). A. L. Fagg made an attempt on lhe New Zealand record for the pole valut, but won the event with only lift. The 100 yards championship was won by 11. Steel (10 I-ssec.); 120 yards hurdles, R.
