DUTIES ON NEW ZEALAND GOODS CANBERRA, March 17. The Minister of Trade and Customs, Mr. T. W. White, said that by a proclamation published in to-day’s Commonwealth Gazette the Customs duties applicable to certain goods of New Zealand origin are amended, and in future these goods will be admitted to Australia free of duty. The goods affected are fruit-grading machines and certain infant foods— Kariol, Karil and Karilac. The amendments have been made in accordance with the provisions of the 1933 trade agreement between New Zealand and Australia, which provides that where duties applicable in New Zealand to a product of Australian origin are lower than the duties applicable in Australia to a like product of New Zealand origin .the New Zealand Government may request equalisation of the rate*
