MATCH AT MELBOURNE VICTORIA BATTING Received Dec. 17, 11.30 p.m. MELBOURNE, Dec. 17. In the Sheffield Shield match only an hour's play took place owing to rain. Against Queensland, Victorin, in their first innings, made 40 without loss. Rigg made 18 not out and Lee 20 not out.
ADELAIDE MATCH SOUTH AUSTRALIA AND N.S.W. Received Dec. 17, 11.30 p.m. ADELAIDE, Dec. 17. In the Sheffield Shield match against South Australia, New South Wales, in their first innings, lost six for 292. Fingleton made 81, McCabe 106, and Barnes 62 not out.
