LATEST BRITISH WEAPON MANUFACTURE IN AUSTRALIA (By Telegraph—Press As«K)e : ation—Copyright) SYDNEY, Nov. 24. The Government ordnance factory at Maribynong is preparing to begin the manufacture of the new British anti-aircraft gun about which, according to a recent cable from London, there is great secrecy. A London cable on November 13 stated that the newspapers are unable to penetrate the veil of secrecy surrounding Britain’s new anti-aircraft gun, which for the first time was revealed in a guarded written reply in the House of Commons to Sir V. Warrender, baldly announcing the gun's perfection. It is understood that the military authorities are satisfied aftei years of research and huge expenditure that the gun will prove effective against air raiders.
