FOG OVER LONDON

Although there was bright sunshine over most of England, London lay under a thick pall of fog yesterday, which is the coldest November day for 14 years. There was a widespread shipping hold-up at the week-end in Thames Estuary, North Sea, and the Channel. The roads in many parts of the country were iceoound and road traffic was impeded by snow which fell in several districts.
