BOY RIDER KILLED
DRAGGED HEAD DOWNWARDS [ Per Press Association. ] BLENHEIM, Nov. 23. Bertie James Morrison, aged 13, Okaramio, sustained fatal injuries when he was dragged by a pony on his grandmother's farm yesterday afternoon. Unable to reach the stirrup irons, Morrison was riding with his feet in the leathers, when one stirrup caught in a half-opened gate, throwing him off the pony, one foot being entangled in the leather top. The pony bolted with the boy hanging head down. He suffered severe head injuries, succumbing soon after I the doctor’s arrival from Havelock.
