FINES IMPOSED
STRIKING BRITISH MINERS LONDON, Nov. 22. Damages ranging from ten shillings to £3 each were awarded at Doncaster against 1835 miners for breach of contract arising from lightning strikes. In respect to 1643 men, it was stated that they had objected to the owners moving the lamproom closer to the coalface to simplify working of the colliery. The arrangement did not convenience anyone. In consequence of strikes, of which there had been 57 in a year, the company had lost an output of 13,600 tons.
