Increase In Sterling Exchange DAIRY ADVANCES HIGHER. The weekly statement of assets and liabilities of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand as at the close of business on Monday, November 15, is as follows: Liabilities.

Proportion of reserve (No. 7 less No. 5) to notes and other demand liabilities, 75,665 per cent., compared with 75,845 per cent, on November 8. Sterling exchange has increased by £466,249, the total now being £16,676,180. On the other side of the statement is shown £62, 219, as liabilities in currencies other than New Zealand currency. Gold is unchanged at £2,801, 791. Subsidiary coin at £84,869 shows a deeerase of £527. Advances to the State dairy industry account total £4,380,895, an increase of £182,7G6. Advances to the Slate for other purposes remain unchanged at £700,000. Investments stand at £2,658,325, and other assets at £77,505, show an increase of £18,842. The note issue has increased by £53,007 and now stands at £13,279,908. Demand liabilities to the State total £4,563,000, a decrease of £83,785. The trading banks’ reserve balances at £7,096,866, show an increase of £364,975. Other demand liabilities total £720,265, an increase of £259,518. Other liabilities at £157,306, have risen by £11,396. The statement balances at £27,379,566, an increase of £667,330.
