Mr. I. Forrester, of the Wanganui P. and T. staff, has received notice of his transfer to Auckland and leaves at the beginning of next week to take up his new duties, having been awarded a cadetship. Mr Albert E. Tingev was made a presentation by the shoo and office staff of Tingey’s. Ltd., yesterday afternoon on the occasion of his departure for Auckland, where he will take over the position of accountant in the firm’s branch. Mr W. L. Burgess, manager, in an appropriate speech, referred to Mr Tingey’s service of nine years in the Wanganui office and the fact that he was the third generation in the business. His departure would, for the first time since the establishment of the business, leave Wanganui without anyone of the firm’s name in the branch. He congratulated Mr Tingey on his promotion and. on behalf of the staff, wished him every success in his new position, and concluded by asking him to accept an engraved gold pencil as a parting gift. Mr Tingey thanked the staff for their thoughtfulness and assured them he would have pleasant memories of his association with them.
