HIDES AND SKINS
FAULTY PREPARATION DOMINIONS’ LOSSES. LONDON, Nov. 4. A Monograph issued by the Im■erial Institute says that Empire producers are losing several millions yearly owing to faulty preparation of hides and skins, which are needlessly damaged and realise only a fraction of their value. The Monograph urges Dominion producers to prevent damage by disease, the warble fly, barbed wire scratches, branding on the butt instead of the 'oot, ear, or cheek.
