EGYPTIAN CRISIS

THE KING’S ADVISER PREMIER OBJECTS TO APPOINTMENT. CAIRO, Oct. 26. A serious constitutional crisis is reported to have arisen owing to King Farouk reappointing Ali Mahi Pasha as his political adviser. The Premier, Mustafa Pasha, objects to this being done without Cabinet being consulted. FEARS DISPELLED Received Oct. 27, 11.50 p.m. LONDON, Oct. 27. The Cairo correspondent of the Times reports that the constitutional crisis fears were dispelled following a 45-minutes meeting between the King and Nahas Pasha, at which the King explained that the re-appointment of Ali was due solely to personal confidence, adding that the King was above party politics and he expected Ali to act likewise, ensuring Palace and Government co-operation. Nahas afterwards declared that he was completely satisfied, saying: “All goes well.”
