STOCKTAKING IN N.Z

REPORT ON THE CODE SOME SEARCHING INQUIRIES [ Per Press Association. ] WELLINGTON, Oct. 26. Rugby football in New Zealand is to be the subject of special reports covering both the administrative and the playing sides of the game. The question of the standard of play as well as such matters as methods of selection, playing of trials, etc., arose during a meeting at Wellington of the New Zealand Rugby Football Council, and it was as a result of the discussion at that meeting that the decision was made to have special reports furnished. It was decided that the following sub-committees be set up to report to the next meeting:—Playing aspect, Messrs. E. McKenzie (convener), R. T. Meredith, A. A. Adams, W. J. Wallace and J. T. Burrows; administrative aspect (including trials selections), Messrs. S. S. Dean (convener), J. Prendeville, D. M. Spedding, R. T. Meredith and F. T. Glasgow. It was reported by Mr. A. A. Adams, a member of the New Zealand selection committee, that the selectors intended to furnish a report. A decision was also made that all unions be invited to report on the playing of the game in their districts. A special committee, comprising Messrs. Dean, Maddison, Prendeville and Adams, was appointed to report on all aspects of primary and postprimary school football.
