SULFANILAMIDE DEATHS
TOTAL NOW FORTY AN UNCERTAIN DRUG CHICAGO, Oct. 25. The sulfanilamide deaths now total 40. Over 700 parcels of the elixir have been distributed throughout the country. It is claimed again that the effect of the drug cannot be predicted. One physician administered twelve doses, including one to his own nurse. Six patients died and six were not affected.
