SEAFIELD CLUB LABOUR DAY TOURNEY YESTERDAY’S RESULTS The Seafield Golf Club tournament was continued yesterday under favourable conditions, except for a strong breeze n .ich made first-class scoring rather difficult. Hunter at the 19th. Maroro Handicap The winners in the first round were J. Alp, R. Smart, H. G. Luke, R. M. Peattie, J. Marshall, R. B. Carr, S. Pritchard, T. R. Ramsay. Bogey Competition. The bogey competition in the morning was won by K. McFarlane 2 down. R. B. Carr, J. Alp, E. Goldsbury and B. Wilson returned cards of 3 down, and on a count back the second prize was won by Goldsbury. The Stableford bogey in the afternoon was won by A. R. Kitto, H. Gilberd being runner-up. Both players carded 36, Kitto winning on a count back. Consolation sections are also being played among the losers in first rounds of the Seafield championship and Springvale Handicap respectively and resulted as follows: Championship Consolation. E. B. The Mid-Cantorbury golf championship was won by W. M. Satterthwaite, of Harewood, with 147. S. Bryant (Harewood) was next with 148. The junior title was won by R. W. Orr (Ashburton) with 159. E. The second Buller golf championship was held on the Westport Club’s links over the holiday week-end and

concluded to-day. Competitors from Christchurch, Ashburton, Greymouth, Karamea, Reefton and Hokitika were included in the 93 entries. The men’s senior championship was won by R. Hay McKenzie, the intermediate by J. Caldwell, and the junior by T. Phipps. The ladies’ championship was won by Mrs. B. Seyb. MANAWATU CHAMPION t B. M. Glendinning, of Manawatu, in an exciting final. Silk had beaten H. G. Davies, of Napier, and Glendinning beat N. H. Amon, of Rangitikei, in the semifinals. The Manawatu Plate was won by J. 5 P. Hornabrock, who beat F. W. Hug--1 gins, of Nelson, at the 20th.
