COURTCRAFT SECOND WIN FOR LORD WARDEN FILLY. Received Oct. 24, 7.5 p.m. MELBOURNE, Oct. 24. The weather was fine and there was an excellent attendance at the Moonee Valley races yesterday. Courtcraft a wonderful effort in the W. S. Cox '-'late to finish second to Young Idea. Courtcraft, well placed throughout, battled the issue out gamely and was going as well as Young Idea at the post. His performance suggests that he has excellent prospects in the V.R.C. Derby and the critics were greatly impressed. Charles Fox was third. Black Mac disappointed his Cup admirers by his poor display. Norman set a course record of 482 sec. for the half-: lile in the St. Albans Handicap for fillies. By Lord Warden from Knocklyn, she was bred in New Zealand and cost 350gns. She has been unbeaten in two starts.

Frill Prince surprised by winning the Valley Cup. Mala finished well to get second. Nightguard, who was always prominent, was a good third. Wotan made up ground at the finish but was never dangerous. Jack Horner and International ran poorly. Manolive was lame after the race. Mala was unlucky but his strong finish enhances hit Melbourne Cup prospects.
