NEW CUNARD LINER
TO BE NAMED MAURETANIA CONSTRUCTION AT BIRKENHEAD. I British Official Wirelees.] Received Oct. 24, 9.55 p.m. RUGBY, Oct. 23. The new Cunard-White Star liner, which is to be launched at the end of July for the transatlantic service, will be named Mauretania after her famous predecessor.
The keel of the new liner, which will be constructed at Birkenhead by Cammell Laird, was laid in May and is believed to be the largest ever built in England as distinct from the Scottish and Irish shipyards.
