Miss Dorothy Clark is a New Plymouth visitor to Wanganui for the holiday. Miss Rene Smith, Eltham, is spending the week-end in Wanganui. Mrs. J. Peters, Inglewood, is spending a few days in Wanganui as the guest of Mrs. J. Murray. Miss E. Moir is a Wanganui visitor to Auckland. Miss Phyllis Taylor, Hatrick Terrace, is spending a few days in Waverley. Miss Marjory Stone, St. Hill Street Extension, is on a short holiday visit at Waverley. Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Batley, of Moawhanga, were week-end visitors to Wanganui. Mr. and K. W, Nolan were Auckland visitors to Wanganui during the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Thomas, and Miss Thomas, Wellington, are visiting Wanganui. Mr. R. B. Horsley and Miss Horsley have returned to Wanganui East, after a long holiday spent in the East. Miss Grace Williams left Wanganui on Saturday for New Plymouth, where she is the suest of Mrs. R. Day. Miss J. Joll, of Hawera, is visiting Wanganui for the week-end, and with her mother, Mrs. B. L. Joll, are the guests of Mrs. Rowe. Miss Gwen Fulton, of Pukekohe, is visiting her uncle, Mr. N. Fulton, of St. John’s Hill. Miss Fulton travelled from Auckland to Palmerston North in one of Union Airways’ ’planes. Mrs. Eric Forlong, who has been visiting her mother, Mrs. A. Hatrick, St. John’s Hill, has returned to Auckland.

Mrs. M. Bond is a Wanganui visitor to Wellington for the holiday weekend.

Miss McKenzie, Wanganui, is spending a few days in Wellington.

Mrs. J. Thomson, Parnell, Auckland, is visiting Wanganui, and is staying with her mother, Mrs. G. Watters.

Mrs. L. Elkin, of Auckland, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. A. Guscott, Victoria Avenue, has gone to Christchurch. Mrs. A. Buckley is a visitor from Auckland for the Rasmussen—Hall and Marchant—Hall double wedding which took place on Saturday evening.

Mrs. S. L. Parsons, of Wanganui, who has been visiting Auckland, left the northern city last Friday for Wanganui and Wellington.

Mrs. W. I. Thomason and Miss Maisie Thomason, of Inglewood, arrived in Wanganui on Saturday to spend a short holiday as the guests of Mrs. R. Guthrie.

Mrs. J. B. Baird and her two small daughters have returned to their St. Jonn’s Hill home, after a seven months’ trip to England and Canada.

Misses June Strouts, Ngaire Russell, and Pauline Christie left at the weekend for Gisborne, where they are the guests of Mrs. Harry Kemp for the races and the show.

Wanganui visitors to Marton on Friday evening for the Gypsy Ball included Miss Joan Graham, Miss Lindsay Barstow, Miss Lorraine Watkins, Miss Marsaile McDonald, Miss Jean Reid, Messrs. Colin Guscott, R. Handley, R. Dawson and J. Macfarlane.

The Countess of Orford and her daughter, Lady Anne Walpole, arrived from England on Friday by the Rangitiki. During the past three years Lady Orford has been living at her home in Devonshire. She has now taken up residence at her Manurewa home, Auckland, and will remain there for an indefinite period. ENGAGEMENT. The engagement has been announced of Margaret, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Edmonds, Wanganui, to 'Ntfel Robert, youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. C. Higgins, of Kaitoke.
