WANGANUI AWARD Mr lan L. Burr, B.Sc., of Wanganui, has been awarded the Duff us Lubecki Research Scholarship in Applied Science. This scholarship is awarded to students proceeding to research work in Pure and Applied Science and Medicine, and is available to students studying Pure Science, Medicine, Dentistry and Mining. The scholarship is awarded on the records of candidates during their years of study, results obtained for both class work and degree examinations being taken into consideration. The scholar is required to continue his post-graduate work in the University of Otago. Mr Burr will be congratulated on gaining this distinction in competition with students, drawn from the various applied science courses.
Mr Burr left the Wanganui Technical College three and a-halC years ago to study science at the Otago and after obtaining his B.Sc. at the end of last year, he was awarded the senior scholarship in geology for 1937. He is a son of Mr and Mrs G. C. Burr, of Wanganui.
