Banking Department £ Capital 14,500,000 Rest 3,100,000 Deposits— Public 29,800,000 Bankers 89,300,000 Other accounts 36,300,000 £173,000,000 £ Government securities 99,600,000 Discounts, advances 6,400,000 Other securities 23,300,000 Notes and coin 43,700,000 £173,000,000 Proportion of reserve to liabilities, 28.13 per cent., compared with 24.63 per cent, last week. The Bank of England rate of discount is 2 per cent, to which it was reduced from 25 per cent, on June 30 1932.
