TOURIST COMPANY’S PROUT MOUNT COOK OPERATIONS A net profit of £4082, against £l3OO last year and a loss of £2112 in 1935, is shown in the accounts of the Mount Cook Tourist Company, for the year ended March 31. During the year the nominal capital was reduced from £85,000 to £42,500 and the paid capital by £40,763 to £39,666. The name was changed to the Mount Cook and Southern Lakes Tourist Company, Limited. A hotel and launch service was purchased at Queenstown. The reorganisation has allowed the writing off of an accumulated deficit of £38,700. BUILDING SOCIETY YEAR CHRISTCHURCH COMPANY A credit balance of £3358 after providing interim and final dividends at the unchanged rate of 6i per cent, per annum is shown in the accounts of the Mutual Benefit and Building Society for the year ended September 30. The revenue from interest and fees was £12,771, against £12,738 last year, and the net profit was £7357, against £6697.
