USE OF STAPLE FIBRE
MIXTURE WITH WOOL IN JAPAN Received Oct. 22, 11.20 p.m. TOKIO, Oct. 22. An inter-departmental conferencf decided that in future blankets foi use in the Army and Navy and uniforms of State, railways and police students will be made from mixtures of wool and staple fibre. Regulations are accordingly being promulgated by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, which aims to economise in the use of wool by mixing over 25 per cent, of staple fibre, for blankets and woollen fabrics. JAPANESE WOOL PURCHASES Received Oct. 22, 11.20 p.m. TOKIO, Oct. 22. Japan needs to purchase 105,000 bales of wool during the remainder of this year. Industrialists recently asked the Government to sanction the purchase of 150,000 but Mr. Yoshino declined. Some companies have seven or eight months’ supplies but others have hardly any.
