FOR LOCOMOTIVE STAFFS
NEW OFFICE AT YARDS COMPLETION AT CHRISTMAS In place of the present inadequate quarters, the erection of a new office for the use of the locomotive foreman and staff at Wanganui has been begun, and it is expected that the work will be completed before Christmas. It is situated opposite the present buildings in Taupo Quay extension. The new office will be subdivided into sections for the use of the foreman, his assistants, and the clerical staff. Tne timber used in the construction of the buildings was formerly that of administrative offices in Wellington and is in a very sound condition. The majority of it is kauri and Is as sound as the day when first used. The offices at present occupied are inadequate and unsuitable in many ways, and the section looks forward to the time when they uill move out to the new building. -
