CHINESE IN PURSUIT DEVELOPMENTS IN NORTH INVADERS’ HEAVY LOSSES PEKING, Oct. 20. Important developments have begun in North China, and the Japanese on the Tientsin-Pukow railway are withdrawing from Shangtung, although they only recently crossed the border. General Han C'hu-fu’s Shangtung army, 100,000 strong, is advancing in pursuit of the Japanese, and. claims that he has captured several towns with little resistance. The Japanese spokesman admitted suffering heavily in the mountain fighting in Shansi.
