PALESTINE UNREST
MUFTI AT LEBANCN REQUEST BY BRITAIN (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON. Oct. 20. It is understood that the British Government has requested France not to permit the Grand Mufti to go to Cairo. He is at present at Lebanon under the surveillance of the French authorities. A Paris message states that Deputy Dekerillis, a member of the Chamber’s Foreign Affairs Committee, writing in the Epoque, declared that Italy is behind the Arab revolt in Palestine. He adds: “Throughout Arabia, including Egypt and Yemen, Italian agents are working against Britain, which is undoubtedly weakened by the Palestine guerrilla lighting. As Britain is our partner, it is cause for uneasiness.”
