WAVERLEY

WAVERLEY BATHS. Mr. Hcginbotham presided at a meeting of the executive committee held on October 16. A letter was received from Mr. H. G. Dickie, M.P., advising that the request for subsidised labour for the erection of the baths would be granted, and a motion was passed thanking Mr. Dickie for his interest and assistance. The subscription list to date, shows a most satisfactory position. Donations amounting to over £3OO have already been given and it is felt the areas yet to be canvassed will produce a further £3OO and that the general meeting to be held at a later date would be able to devise ways and means of raising the final amounts necessary. It was decided to endeavour to complete the canvass this week and to have all details in readiness to report to a general meeting at an early date. The committee expressed a hope that the baths would be available for the coming season. PERSONAL. Mr. and Mrs. Caldwell, Wellington, who have been the guests of Mrs. Fleming, have returned home.
