ITALY’S OBJECTIVE PROPAGANDISTS BUSY WIDESPREAD ACTIVITIES (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) LONDON, Oct. 19. Mr Vernon Bartlett, in an article in the News-Chronicle, says that Italy is intensely working on the foundation for an African Empire. Three hundred propagandists are preparing documents in 28 African languages, making the most intense use of the radio in Abyssinia, concurrently with cultural propaganda and military training. The world’s greatest Moslem university is planned and it is hoped to have a native army of 3,000,000 men within five years, with 300,000 on the active list. A company with a capital of 100,000,000 lire, 51 per cent, being Italian and 49 per cent. German, has been formed to exploit Abyssinia's iron, coal, copper, and zinc. Preparations are being made to tap the timber and water power. FRANCE’S POSSESSIONS MEASURES FOR PROTECTION PARIS, Oct. 19. President Le Brun has signed a decree empowering M. The French Press, which is paying deep attention to Palestine, is alarmed at the rise of pan-Arabism, which Signor Mussolini is exploiting against England and France. Several newspapers say that the Grand Mufti should not be kept in French territory but should be deported to - safe place or handed over to the British. TRENCHES ON FRONTIER SPANISH INSURGENTS MOVEMENT BY FRENCH FLEET Received Oct. 20, 5.5 p.m. PARIS, Oct. 10. Tlie insurgents are fortifying and digging trenches along the French frontier. The French fleet leaves Toulon to-day for manoeuvres in the vicinity of the Balearic Islands. L'Humanite says that two crippled Italian submarines have put in at Naples.
