SWIMMING
WANGANUI EAST CLUB ANNUAL MEETING HELD The annual meeting of the Wanganui East Swimming Club was held last night. There was a good attendance. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr A. Stuart (Marton); president, Dr. Kendrick Christie; secretary, Mr P. Smith; treasurer, Mr J. Phizacklea; auditor, Mr M. Breed; vice-presidents, Messrs J. B. Cotterill, M.P., O. Wilson, M.P., N. Annabell, A. G. Wills, D. Wallace, H. Hawke, C. Bradley, D. Wilson, J. H. Scott, B. Dowsett, G. Carrad, G. Greeves, E. Walpole, N. Wilson and C. Breed; * committee, Messrs H. Hawke, C. Breed, C. Goldsbury, M. Breed, A. P. Tonks, C. Marshall, Cyril Marshall, R. Lowe, Miss C. Annabell; delegates to the Centre, Messrs M. Breed and P. Smith; delegato to lifesaving section, Mr C. Goldsbury; handicapper, Mr H. Hawke; starter, Mr C. Breed; club captain, Mr M. Breed. Regret was expressed that Mr H. Hawke was not available as secretary this year, tributes being paid to his ability in that position.
