Mr Hair, Kimbolton, gave a short report of Mr Johannes C. Anderson’s visit, the main theme of his talk being the cuckoo.

Very interesting was the talk on various routes to the Old Country, delivered by Mr Hodgson, of Apiti. The speaker has travelled in many countries, but his advice to those present was to see their own country first. Mr Hodgson depicted each port along the Suez route, which he considered was the most interesting route to go Home. He almost made such ports as Gibraltar, Toulon, Port Said, Colombo, Albany and others appear before his listeners. At the conclusion a very hearty vote of thanks to the speaker was carried with acclamation.

Competition winners were: Most useful article out of a sugar bag, Mrs McMillan 1, Miss D. Fankhauser 2, Mrs D. Wood 3; hand posies, Mrs McMillan 1, Mrs Reilly 2, Mrs D. Wood 3.

Mr J. Watt, president of the club, congratulated both teams, who had had an unbeaten record for the whole season. Quite the best record any teams had had for a seaso n before. The senior team were the winners of the competition cup, the Beard Cup and the seven-a-side cup, and the junior team the competition cup, the Mitchell Shield and the seven-a-side. Hearty congratulations were extended both teams for their excellent performances.
