Smith were in Waitart. last week for the Watenburg—Fairweather wedding. Mrs R. J. Caldenwood, Whenuakura, has been at Urenui. BOWLING Last Saturday’s scores were: — Mairs, Hopkins, Dunkiey, White 22, W. F. Sheild, J. Bourke, Wainright 16. Jones, Foley, H. Palmer 22, Thomas, Oakley, Richards 24. H. Thomas, Hamerton, P. PORT OF PATEA CUSTOMS REVENUE That the port of Patea is serving a very useful purpose is shown by the Customs revenue collected for the year ending March 31 last. This amounted to no less than £63,401, a record we believe, for the port. The figures are greater by £lB,OOO than those for Oamaru, and are nearly treble the amount collected at Hokitika, and over treble the amount col«cted at Westport.
