MEDAL FOR BYRD
SECOND ANTARCTIC VENTURE COJLHEMORATED. Received Oct. 17, 7.15 p.m. WASHINGTON, Oct. 15. The Secretary of the Navy, Mr. C. A. Swanson, presented Admiral Byrd with the Congressional Medal commemorating his second Antarctic venture. He said that Byrd had made himself a “niche in history.” Fifty-six other members ot the expedition also received medals.
