JEAN BATTEN’S FLIGHT
ARRIVAL AT DARWIN Received Oct. 17, 7.35 p.m. DARWIN, Oct. 17. Miss Jean Batten arrived after an uncomfortable journey through dust and heat. Her engine must he cleaned and there is little hope of her beginning the flight to England before Tuesday. Miss Batten is interested in H. F. Broadbent’s attempt to break the record from England. If he succeeds Miss Batten “hopes to return the compliment.”
