TRAFFIC CHAOS
TAXIDRIVERS’ ACTION LONDON, Oct. 14. A hundred taxidrivers, objecting to a move-on order from the night rank in Coventry Street, created traffic chaos not seen since the Coronation by driving in slow procession across Leicester Square, Coventry Street, Piccadilly Circus, and back. They claimed that they were ordered to move on because the Duchess of Kent was dining at a cafe in Coventry Street.
The police say that more than the stipulated number of cars were parked in Coventry Street. They denied a vendetta against the drivers.
