FANCY DRESS BALL The Bulls School fancy dress ball will be held in the Town Hall this evening, and strong committees of ladies and men have everything in order for the smooth running of this popular function. The grand march will start at 7 p.m., and adults may dance after 10 p.m. Loveday’s Dance Band will supply the music, and admission charges are low. RANGITIKEI GOLF CLUB The following players have been seselected for the annual riverside Cup match, to be played on Saturday:— Rangitikei: H. Hendry, E. Carter, R. J. Carter, G. Bertram, I. T. Webster, T. Willis, M. Willis, A. W. Amon, N. S. Prichard, G. D. Flower, J. G. Mitchell, K. Field and R. Mackay. Manawatu: G. Drew, R. F. Scott, A. K. Drew, W. Aitken, J. G. Wilson, S. Orr, Lee, L. A. Sadler, F. S. Collier, S. W. Ingram, W. Pearce and H. Pearce. GENERAL NEWS Arrangements for the Rangitikei Racing Clubs spring meeting are now well in hand, and patrons will find many improvements on October 30. On Wednesday afternoon Mr T. W. Ratana sent three horses to Bulls— Lady Whelu, Ringapoto and Try Luck—which will be trained here foi their Bulls engagements. This week good catches whitebait have been secured in the Lower Rangitikei, and “bait” is selling at a reasonable figure here at present.
