SCHOOL BREAK-UPS
PREPARATIONS BEING MADE GOVERNOR-GENERAL TO VISIT COLLEGIATE SCHOOL Preparations for the breaking up of schools in the Wanganui district are being made now. His Excellency, the GovernorGeneral (Lord Galway) will be the speaker at the function held at the Wanganui Collegiate School on the evening of Tuesday, December 21. The Girls’ College function takes place on Friday, December 17, and a speaker has yet to be arranged. In accord with the usual practice the Wanganui Technical College will celebrate the end of the term by holding a picnic. Dr. E. C. Beeby, Director of the Council of Educational Research, will be the speaker at the Intermediate School function on December 16. Arrangements for a speaker for prize day at St. George’s School on the afternoon of Tuesday, December 21, are being made.
