TABLE TENNIS CLUB PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES Last Saturday night was the closing night for the 1937 season of the Sandon Table Tennis Club. The various trophies won during the season were presented by the club’s president, Mr. E. N. Butler. In the course of his remarks Mr. Butler complimented the club on the result of the season, which he considered had been most successful. He expressed the club’s thanks to Mesdames E. N. Butler and T. H. Williq/ns for carrying out the duty of chaperones during the season and their work in connection with the social activities, and to Messrs. R. Meyer (captain), R. Bishop (vice-1 captain), G. Williams (secretary) and Miss Jean Butler, the assistant-secre-

tary. Thanks were also expressed to the car owners and donors of trophies. The following trophies were presented by Mr. Butler: Champion singles: A grade (T. H. Williams’ silver button), A. C. Matthews; B grade (F. Meyer’s button), E. N. Butler; C grade (Ken Lumsden’s button), not I finalised; D grade (A. C. Matthew’s I button), D. Stevens. The patron’s! cup (presented by Mr. E. Wilcock) I was won by A. C. Matthews, a minia-1 ture accompanying same (presented : by Mr. G. Williams). A miniature cup for the runner-up (presented by | Mr. P. Bishop was won by Miss Jean Butler.
