OBITUARY

MR. PERCY ROBINSON. The death occurred, in a private hospital, at Palmerston North, on October 1, of Mr. Percy H. Robinson, a widely respected resident of Kawhatau Valley, Mangaweka. Born at Norbiton, Surrey, the late Mr. Robinson, while in England, practised as an architect. Twenty-six years ago he came to New Zealand, and after a year, part of which was spent in Taranaki, he decided to take up farming, eventually buying a farm in the Kawhatau Valley, where he had resided ever since. In 1916, he married a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Deighton, of Kawhatau Valley and formerly of Marton. Of a naturally reserved disposition, the late Mr. Robinson, nevertheless, was loved and admired by all who knew him and had the privilege of his quiet, sincere friendship. Although he had a great love for his Homeland, he became greatly attached to his adopted country, and always said there was no better country in the world to Jive in. The picturesque little Kawhatau Church, with its Gothic windows and doors, of which he was the architect, will be a lasting memorial to him and his high ideals of life. There are left a widow, and one son, to whom much sympathy will be extended. WELLINGTON CENTENARIAN [ Per Press Association. ] WELLINGTON, Oct. 12.
