POWER BOARD ENGINEERS
CONFERENCE BUSINESS [ Per Press Association. ] WELLINGTON, Oct. 11. Addressing the annual conference of the Electric Supply Authorities and Engineers’ Association of New Zealand, Mr J. A. Nash, president of the Main Power Boards’ and Supply Authorities’ Association, said that one of the most important subjects to come before the association this year was the question of nationalisation, in regard to which the Engineers’ Association had brought down an excellent report to be discussed at a later stage. Success had attended most of the representations made as to the remits passed at the last conference, but through lack of support from members it had not been possible to proceed with the desired Dominion award negotiations. It had not been possible to carry through the superannuation scheme, but the main association was hopeful that before the current year’s end the engineers and other employees of the power boards and supply authorities would be placed upon precisely the same footing as the civil servants. Following are the officers for the current year: President, Mr H. K. Kemp; first vice-president, Mr M. Cable; second vice-president, Mr J. A. Smith; executive committee, Messrs J. Cottier, J. D. Dicker, G. Maclean, E. F. Hollands, J. C. Forsyth and A. Buckingham;
