Mr and Mrs A. Doig have returned to Wanganui from Wellington. Mrs Fitzgerald, of Tolaga Bay, accompanied by Misses C. E. and B. Fitzgerald, were week-end visitors to Wanganui. Miss Jessie Stroud, Guyton Street, has returned to Wanganui after spending two months in Sydney. Mrs V. T. Fail and Mrs L. Austin, Taupo, who have been the guests of Mrs D. Strachan, Moana Flats, left on Saturday for Wellington. Miss Lorna Hughes, of Christchurch, is spending a holiday in Wanganui and staying with her relatives at Hotel Braeburn. Miss Joyce Burnside, Wanganui, is spending a short holiday with her mother, Miss E. T. Burnside, St. Clair, Dunedin. Mesdames Speedy and Murdoch, of the Ruapehu Federation of Women’s Institutes, will visit Wellington this week to attend the W.I. voluntary organisers' school to be held in connection with the W.I. Round Table Conference. Mrs A. Kemp, of Brisbane, arrives in Wanganui this week to spend a holiday with her sister, Mrs W. J. Wilson, King's Avenue, Gonvi lie. Mrs E. Bartlett, well known in New Zealand croquet circles, left Auckland by the Monterey on Friday on a holiday visit to Sydney and Melbourne. Al. Senia Chostiakoff, accompanied by Madame Chostiakoff, who have been touring New Zealand, were passengers by the Wanganella, which left Wellington on Friday night for Sydney. Miss Edith G. Sandrey, of Ashburton, a leader of the New Zealand Youth Hostel Overseas Party, expects to be here until September (says a London correspondent, writing on May 19). This week the party has split into smaller sections to tour. Miss Sandrey’s party has arranged a tramping expedition to North Wales, then, via the Peak and Lake Districts, to Scotland, returning to London on June 23. They will then go to the Continent until the end of July. Mrs Dellow, picsiaent of the Ruapehu Federation of Women’s Institutes, and Mrs S. G. Millen, voluntary organiser, are delegates to the Round Table Conference being held in Wellington this week by the Federation of Women’s Institutes and will leave to-day for the Capital City. Mr and Mrs C. M. Malfroy (Wellington), who left New Zealand for England on Easter Saturday, both had the ill-luck to contract influenza after their arrival in London. They witnessed the Coronation procession from a very comfortable ilat in St. James’ Street with their daughter, Miss Margaret Malfroy. At present they are staying in Cambridge with Mr and Mrs Jules Malfroy. A Continental tour will be made later, and the travellers hope to see a good deal of rural England. Mrs Fleming, who has been spending a short holiday in Wanganui as the guest of Mrs Ingram, Wicksteed Street, has returned to Waverley.
