B RADIO STATIONS
AUCKLAND MASS MEETING [ Per Press Association. ] AUCKLAND. June 10. Apropos the Auckland request for permission to broadcast the mass meeting on the future of B stations, the Hon. F. Jones stated this morning that, following the Auckland telegram that a summary of speeches had been forwarded by air mail, a letter had arrived containing merely a list of speakers with the information that the speakers had given the gist of their speeches in a few words, but could give nothing further as they did not use notes. An assurance was given that the speakers would confine themselves to the B station issue, merely voicing the opinion that the stations should be guaranteed further assistance and allowed to live, as declared in the Government's election pledges. So far the Minister has not received copies of the speeches as required, and until he does the matter cannot be carried further.
