GREYMOUTH INCIDENT
MAN IN HARBOUR COMPANION FOUND INJURED WESTPORT, June 6. Mystery surrounds an accident which befel two men on the Greymouth wharves last night. A seaman on the Union Steam Ship Company's coastal vessel Omana, Mr Harry Silva, aged about 40, was discovered clinging to the stern of the Anchor Shipping Company's vessel Rata, which was lying about 50 yards from his ship. The weather at the time was bitterly cold and the water was almost freezing. Mi Silva was semi-con-scious when found and it was more than an hour before he inquired about the whereabouts of a companion. This led to investigations about the wharves which resulted in the discovery of Mr Keith Kingsley, a baker’s driver, aged about 30. who was found lying among the piles of a wharf, the tide having receded. He was suffering from severe head injuries and was removed to hospital, where his condition to-night, was reported to be improved.
